So it seems the Revlon founder was quite a character.

Charles H. Revson was a hard-driven perfectionist whose overbearing, imperious personality led most of his business partners to sever their connections with him by 1965.

But the pretty side of his affairs eludes me.

What caught my attention was his string of quotes (aside: I think grouchiness is a prerequisite for your quotes being quotable), which includes:

I’m guessing this is about the difference marketing makes

In the factory we make cosmetics; in the drugstore we sell hope.

I’d really love to know who did what to him to spark this

Accuracy is to a newspaper what virtue is to a lady, but a newspaper can always print a retraction.
